Louis Garneau created the women's Mica Mountain Bike Shoes as a dependable option for riders who don't want to sacrifice solid pedaling for affordability. They occupy a middle position between Garneau's pricier pro-level models and its entry-level shoes, with the comfort and support you'll want for long days of roosting berms and dizzying descents. One of our favorite features of the Mica is its entirely seamless upper, a trickle-down feature from higher end models that eliminates bulky stitched seaming in favor of smooth, bonded seams that are far less prone to causing irritation. The synthetic leather is paired with mesh paneling to keep air moving through the shoes, resulting in a breathable fit that won't weigh you down on the trails. When you're putting your shoes on before a ride, two hook-and-loop straps and a ratcheting buckle allow for quick, easy fit adjustments. The straps are also arranged asymmetrically to provide a more wrapped fit around your foot -- specifically at the slippage-prone heel area, which also receives some targeted contouring to add security from the inside out. Garneau includes its nylon Ergo Grip 2 outsole to transfer power from your legs to the pedals, and a host of lugs help to ensure you can reliably navigate especially technical sections of trail off the bike.
